tecumesh 13.5 wont start, seems like not enough power to spin fly wheel. Replaced starter last year, but teeth look chewed up . I have to jump start it as battery not enough to turn it over. But kind of spins half a turn and stops, turn key off and back on , same thing arrggg, turns about a turn and stops. Any suggestions

Test and charge your battery first. If not it might be valve adjustment or a worn cam not giving decomp.

Also, if the teeth on the starter gear are chewed up, they will be contributing to the problem. Not the cause, but not helping.

If it does that with a good battery, then definitely check the valve clearance. Classic sign that makes people think their battery or starter is bad...

I would have the battery tested unless you have recently gotten a new battery.
