I have a Techumsa OH160 on my miller welder/generator. It has been a faithful workhorse for many years. Today, it would turn over but not start. When I pulled the plug, I am not getting any spark. This is an electric start motor and it has an off/run switch with multiple wires coming off it. I am unsure where to start diagnostics. I believe this has an electronic ignition.

Any help in troubleshooting would be appreciated. I am still looking for a manual for the motor.

The solid state ignition for the OH160 i believe is the same as used on the HH120 and OH140 and are very scarce. They pop up on ebay occasionally but the sellers know what they are worth and they usually go for over $100. Many years ago there was some chatter on the web about alternatives. Some guy was selling a kit to modify the engine to use an automotive pickup and coil. I have a OH140 a VH100 and two HH120's. I kinda like the old cast iron beasts. Might try your googlefoo and see what you can find.
