Just purchased a Troybilt TB105 push mower with a 140cc B&S engine at an auction. Unfortunately it did not have a manual with it. It appears to have been used very little, the underside of the deck still has paint on it. Could anyone provide maintenance details, oil capacity in particular and does it matter if I use SAE 30 or 10W30? Thanks for any info.

Go online and look for possible owners manual in pdf form.

oil capacity
Roughly, 18 ounces of SAE 30w oil. Stay away from multi-weight oils. They shear down quick in hot air cooled engines.

Use E-0 gas if you can buy it at 87 octane. I run Stabil year round as I forget how old the fuel is. Never have to worry about stale gas again. All 5 of my mowers, one trimmer and a back pack blower all start in 1-3 pulls.

I leave the stabilized fuel in during winter. Used to drain the gas out for storage. Found out the hoses would dry out and crack causing leaks. Not anymore knock on wood.
