Hello everyone.
Craftsman T1400.
Runs great. Always has.
Here's the deal.
Let's say I'm finished with it for the day.
I drive it into my barn and power it down.
Now, let's say I want to move it, without powering it back up.
I move the transmission into neutral, but I can't push it forward or backward.
This foolishness started last fall.

Here's a modification to my issue.

This is the first time I am trying to start and use the mower after it has been stored all winter.
It starts fine.

Last fall I could drive it forward and in reverse but could not move the machine when in neutral.

An hour or so ago, I actually tried driving it forward and in reverse for the first time this spring.
But, it will not move.
It's almost as if the brakes are lock on.

If, after turning off the mower, I jack up the rear, both rear wheels turn freely. (In opposite directions.)

Now I'm really confused.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Okay then.
My issue has been resolved.

Following the instructions in the video, I was able to perform the repair in less than 10 minutes.

I wasn't sure what to make of the video at first.

But I am informed, he has made a number of videos related to lawn mower repairs.
And all, are exactly on point and easy to follow.
