I pulled an old well worn JD160 from a town dump and went to work getting it into running order. After a long day of effort and spending about $50.00 I managed to get it up and running. The only problem was 1st, 2nd and 3rd speeds were not working. A friend said he had an old JD transmission that might work. Well the transmission was from an old JD110. After close examination I think it can be accomplished. The only problem is the different sizes of the driven pulley and the old 110 has an access port for adding some type of lubricant.
Does anyone see why this swap will not work. I am going to start loosing nuts and bolts tomorrow. Let me know. Jack
