I "inherited" this mower which wasn't startable due to the lack of a primer bulb. I jerry rigged one to resolve that problem. I cleaned the carb elements which didn't appear to be particularly dirty. The 610165 - RETAINER part that attaches to the 93-1225 adjustment lever fitted loosely at the end closest to the cable attachment, and I glued that in with JB Weld, apparently successfully. The mower starts OK but surges at all throttle settings. I am able to mow with it, however. I had hoped that the surging problem would go away while mowing, but it didn't. I'm at a loss as to what additional steps might be desirable to resolve the surging problem. I didn't specifically test the float function (appeared to be cork) but I am thinking that this might be the problem. I prepared the 32:1 mixture using a container that had a small amount of residual gasoline therein. I topped off the gallon container with gas and added the oil thereto, but I was somewhat concerned about whether the gasoline had somehow deteriorated over time. Any suggestions?
