suffolk punch engine shakes a lot

Hi all,
when I start the engine of my old suffolk punch 35s (1994) it shakes almost uncontrollably and this affects it's running making it run unregularly. When I put my foot on the engine to stop the wobbling it runs very nicely. I have thought this might be something to do with bearings in the engine, but I haven't found any replacement bearings on eBay and there are none in the engine block.

any ideas?

They do jump around a bit, make sure gov is working, and set the carb so that it's not too rich, it will take a little time but I know it can be done.

I'd check to see if the crank is bent.
