recently traded a fishing rod for a 3.5 briggs classic push mower. I was planning to switch the engine (which ran great on the deck it was on) to a husquvarna deck. I then did that, put on the mower blade, and then when i start it, the recoil rips out of my hand. I took the air filter off so there is no oil clogging, and the blade is on the engine. Didn't check the keyway, but it sat all winter without running, so i doubt the keyway would shear just sitting there. Any ideas? I posted a vid of it running. If you watch the video, it also revs low and high at first, then it stops doing that and runs better, whats causing that?

Before you check for a sheared key, check for a loose blade.

Blade is as tight as it can be, not loose at all. When i first tried to start it, it sputtered normally then just quit, it didnt have a pull start issue. Now im skeptical, it might be a blade. going to check tommorow!:laughing::laughing:
