I have a Stihl fs87R Strimmer and have found it slipping since fitting a metal blade attachment.
The problem continued when I refitted the plastic cord attachment.
I'm guessing the increased resistance caused by using the metal attachments has made something disconnect or get warn
down inside.
I would be grateful if anyone is familiar with this problem and can direct me as to how I may fix it. I have so much over due grass cutting to do
and also have a neighbour waiting as well.
Kind regards,
Yahya

You can take off the gear head and determine if the slipping is in there by putting a thin flathead screwdriver in the shaft receptacle in the gearhead and turning while putting resistance on the cutting attachment.
It is a real common gearhead that comes on many models, so should be easily found on e-bay.
