I have a Stihl 025 chainsaw that one of the collar screws, that hold the bar onto the saw, stripped out of the housing.Has anyone ever used one of the aftermarket engine housings that are found on Amazon? Prices range from $30 on up to $80 so I'm confused as to the difference in the parts and why the big range of prices. Thanks for any help.

Stihl has an oversixed stud to fix this.

Usually caused by running a saw with a totally wore out sprocket.

Thanks for the quick replies! The sprocket, bar and chain were replaced last year and the sprocket wasn't as bad as some I have seen. The housing you have a link to is one I was looking at but the low price scared me. Fish, could you give me a quick tutorial on how to install one of those oversize screws? Do you have to drill out the housing and tap it some how?

You just double nut the stud and crank it it till is stops. Once it seats you stop you don't torque it

Yeah, it looks just like the old one, just larger on the coarse thread end. Double nutting works fine on installing.
