pop the little cover off in the center of the steering wheel and there should be a 1/2inch bolt there take it out the pull off that is how alot of models of lawn traktors mount up
If it is an old JD, those wheels are on a tight spline and can be a bear to remove. Once the nut is off spray some PB or equivelent to soak overnight. Gravity will draw it down the splines overnight. I sometimes need to use a sacrificial nut on the shaft to protect the threads and use an air hammer to jar the shaft loose while pulling up on the wheel.
