Turned switch and nothing happens. Jumpered battery to starter terminal and engine started. Does this thing have a starter solenoid hidden away somewhere? There is a 15 amp fuse in a circuit, but it is OK, so it's not part of the starter circuit, or if it is, that part of it is OK.
This is a riding lawn mower with a Briggs engine. If there is a starter solenoid, does anyone know where it is located?
It is located next to the battery either bolted to the left frame rail or to the top of the rear hitch plate with two 3/8 head bolts about 2 inches apart. I would also check the clutch and pto safety swithes before going through the trouble of removing the solenoid.

Thanks for the info. Would have checked those two items, but needed to get the lawn cut and it was getting late with threat of rain. I know the seat safety switch is OK. With this info, I hope to get the thing repaired soon. I suppose the starter switch could also be bad, but could have checked that if I could have found the solenoid easily.
