stalling tractor

:smile:i can mow with my john deere 314 for about a hour, then yhe engine starts to stall and wants to die if i shut off my mower deck it will run ok any ideas

How old and what brand is the engine? I'm thinking you may have a valve problem under load. There could be many different causes. If you let it sit for let's say five minutes and then try again does the problem reoccur right a way? How long do you have to let the unit cool down before you can continue for another hour? What have you tried to solve the problem?
