I have a brand-new unused Honda mower that's 4 years old. never started or had gas in it. should i have put something in the cylinder to prevent corrosion, or am i ok with nothing?

I would have used Fogging oil.. That cylinder starts rusting , that term Brand new wont mean much

A few ounces of motor oil would be fine.
Pour it in the plug hole and turn the engine over a few times.
