had the transaxle out and have this wee guy left over . It was taken apart 2 years ago so cannot remember where it goes . Checked parts books and do not see it anywhere . Help . It is an sltx 1054 vt riding tractor . Thanks for any help .
Giving us a little more help, will probably help you. We need to know what tranny you have, plus model numbers. If you can't find that, you need to post the model and serial numbers for your unit.
Sorry, but that number doesn't help. There should be a number of the tranny or if not give us the model and serial numbers of the tractor. To me it looks like a brake return spring, but don't know for sure until I know which tranny you have.
You may have the same transmission as my 1050VT. Google search "hydro gear 310-0510 manual" and look at the first few pages. There are some schematics of various hydro gear transmission in which that spring may be shown. To me it looks like either the spring that connects the hydrostatic bypass to the bypass lever, or it is part of the disk brake assembly. Hopefully this helps.
