Gear shift lever is stuck in neutral. Was working great and gradually became harder to shift . Finally wouldn't shift at all.Is there an adjustment ?

If you can remove the battery (if equipped) and disconnect the spark plug lead, stand the mower on it's end and look at where the shifter goes through the frame. The older models had a grease fitting inside of the frame. Also take a flashlight and look at the pivot arm and shift tube connected to the shift lever. A good dose of WD-40 on all the pivot points may be all you need? Just don't get any WD-40 on the drive disc or drive plate attached to the engine crankshaft. Make sure that the pivot arm and shift tube and all the rods and linkages are not rusted, worn or bent which could make shifting difficult. There are several sites on the net that have exploded diagrams of the underside of Snappers. Type in your model number and look for the main case diagram.
