Snapper Comet Steering Shaft

I am new to this forum. My steering shaft broke at one of the holes on the steering shaft. I had to have it welded. So now I only have one hole to attached the handlebars and it is all warbled out and loose, causing play in my steering. Does anyone have a Comet steering shaft for sale or know where I can locate one? Part #70-40344. Thanks

I have two junk Snappers. I think they may be too new. Both in the mid 1980's.
