I’ve been working on this “new to me” Snapper 3081. Having some fun fixing her up and bringing her back. The ride is a little rougher than what I’m used to but she is small enough to fit between my gates without taking the deck off. I date her about a ‘75. She does have a transmission problem that I’m trying to zero in on.
She moves fine in gear but will suddenly stop then start back up moving after a few seconds. When I free roll her I hear the chains moving and have resistance then no resistance or chain sounds. Any ideas??

Yes, Jim Jackson is a great start for information. I rebuilt my RER using alot of his videos for help.

The four bolt rear wheels and the side fuel tank would be a little earlier than 75.
