And here is the other new addition. This one i got for $50 about a month ago. I bought it from the po's grandson, who thinks his grandfather bought it brand new in the mid-'80s. This W1-145 completes my Wisconsin-Robin trifecta...I now have the W1-185 5hp, the W1-145 4hp and the WT1-125 4hp 2cycle. Just as with the 21500PC, this one starts, runs and idles great. No issues whatsoever.
You have it bad, that thing is super clean, i did take the tape off of mine and was fine underneth all of the tape. I am not sure why they had it on there.
