Hi all, I have a 160cc ohv B&S mower. I picked it up for free, but dont know the history.
It was overfilled with oil. Pulled the plug and it was all oily.
I changed the oil, 10 w 30 to the correct level. Replaced the plug. And put some fresh gas in it.
It runs ok, but smokes from the PCV, though not the exhaust. Exhaust is clear. I let it run for an hour, thinking it would clear up.
It didnt clear up. I pulled the plug and it looks good, no oil, nice color.
Really it runs pretty good. Pops every now and then, but not to much. It just puffs a lot of white smoke from the pcv.
What could cause this? What is the fix?

Most likely the smoke is coming straight from the crankcase, so it could be combustion gasses, or a blown head gasket letting the exhaust gasses into the crankcase.
What is the model number of the engine? the model number should be located, I have never worked on this particular engine so I'm halfway in the dark.
On the front of the engine directly above the spark plug
On the front of the engine between the OHV symbol and the air cleaner
Stamped on the sheet metal above the muffler, either on the right or left side
