I have a Husqvarna push mower HU800 AWD with a Honda GCV190 engine. It was working perfect until the last time I used it where it started fine but quit after a short time; restarted again but again only ran for a short time. I found oil in the air filter and the oil was black. I have since changed the oil and air filter. When I cranked it, it began smoking and is still leaking oil into air filter. It runs fine with these exceptions. What do I need to do?
Sounds to me like you have excessive blowby from either a broken ring or a worn out bore.
Myself, I've had terrible luck with Honda motors. I've tossed rods in 2 already and it wasn't from lack of maintenance either Both rods were defective. Both big ends came apart and went through the block and American Honda would not make me whole again so I repowered with Predator engines. I figure foe a buck and a half, if they blow, I'm not out much. So far (2 years) no issues.
