Smelling Gas

Hello. I need some help please. I topped off the gas tank and went to check the oil in my Snapper riding mower and noticed a gas smell. I did notice a small leak dripping on to the top of the mowing deck. Does anyone have any idea of what has happened? Anyone had this problem?

Hello ,you said that you could smell petrol when you checked the oil , do you think the smell is coming from the oil ,if the oil level has risen and has become thin you may have a carb needle valve leaking, and allowing fuel to flood into engine and then into sump .Gary :smile:
