The pin in the handle of my Honda with the Smart Drive system appears to have come out of the place it's supposed to be, and my drive doesn't work. I can take it apart, but I have no idea how to reassemble it correctly and make the drive work again. Thoughts ?? Help, please.

I've done one myself. They are very tricky. I ordered the 2 black internal sleeves that snap together. Then when you put it back to I get her the pin should sit in the center of the slot between both sleeves. Make sure to loosen the cable to make things easier.

i'm having the same issue. the black internal sleeves have stayed together, and the pin has never come out, but it does have some back and forth play, as well as the ability to pivot from the centerpoint. i haven't figured out which slots of the gray handle housing it should rest in. the ones i've tried either don't allow any movement of the pin at all, or are completely disengaged with the pin and therefore won't control speed.

there doesn't seem to be any detailed photos of the inside of the outer shell/housing either.

i'm having the same issue.

What's the serial number off the back of the mower deck? Share it with me and I'll get you some service info for this.

Thanks

In one of the other threads I've updated my issue. I replaced the smart drive grip to the newer adjustable one, but the grip gets stuck in the engaged position and doesn't return to zero on its own.

I was able to get the original back on and functioning properly. The retrofit kit however does not operate properly which is a shame.

Send me a PM with your email address. I have some tech docs that may help.

In the meantime, did your update kit come with installation instructions? Please review them and double-check your installation to be sure nothing was missed.

install kit did come with directions, which were very helpful. because of them i was able to get the original handle back on (couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong before...turns out I didn't properly loosen the cable). unfortunately the instructions didn't address the sticking issue

i'll send you a PM, thanks for answering
