before anything on the seat, you may want to try washing it with some dishsoap or a degreaser. it could have a mold release type agent or something like armor all( make it all Purdy for sale)on it causing the slipperyness.
That was a good call. It does kind of feel like the car dashboard after you rub some Armor-All into it.
I cleaned it with a strong solution of Oxy-Clean and a scrubby. It helped, but still pretty slick.
Then I decided to go all cave-man on it, and hit it with a fresh sheet of 60 grit sandpaper. In a minute, I had it all buffed out to a pretty even flat-black look, and that made a HUGE difference. My butt stays planted in there now. I expect that will do the trick, but we will see the next time I mow.
