Skag won't start

We have a Skag FreedomZ 725cc 26.0 hp Briggs and Stratton. Will start with starter fluid for a few seconds, have gas flowing at the carburetor, but i don't think it's going into the carburetor. Is there any kind of switch that would possibly keep gas from flowing into the carburetor? TIA ( It ran fine last time we mowed, which was right before all the flooding here on Lake Texoma).

Does that engine have a fuel cut-off solenoid on the bottom of the carburetor bowl?
Turn key and see if you heard it click...may be better with two people.
Or run a wire from the battery plus terminal + and touch the spade terminal on the solenoid and see if it clicks.

Is the gas line shut off?
Could there be water in the carb?
