I have a 16 hp v twin vanguard briggs and straton motor. Its on a simplicity lawnmower. I had to take it apart to change the crankshaft seal in the mower. Now that I put the motor back on, it runs like crap. It spits and sputters, sounds kind of doggish. I ran fine before I tood the motor off to change the seal but now it sounds like crud. I took the carb off twice and cleaned it, checked the valves and also it spits gas out the carb. Any idea?

Are you 100% sure you got the cam timing correct? Valve lash set correctly?
