Simplicity 4x4

Hello All - Here in WI I am having difficulty snowblowing on a slight incline with my Simplicity Broadmoor 1693601. No chains currently, but I do have rear wheel weights. Has anyone had experience with the Legacy or Prestige 4x4 units? Are they reliable? Hesitate to run chains as I don't want to mark up the driveway. I would use the unit for mowing, snowblowing, leaf collection, etc. 3/4 acre yard.

The truth is any lawnmower with either a blade or snow thrower on the front will be absolutely useless without rear wheel weights and chains. The front attachment just takes too much weight off the rear drive when raised, and also the added resistance of just trying to push something that weights 1/4-1/3 of the weight of the lawnmower.

4x4 would help but depending on surface conditions can be just as difficult to work with. And the hardest thing on any tractor is loosing tractor and then finding sudden tractor with the varying conditions causing shock loading that can lead to damagety

Also need to keep in mind that Simplicity is on the way out since Briggs has discontinued the line as well as Snapper. Or best case scenario is being manufactured by DAYE in the 5M sq/ft factory in China.

And you might trying these with addition rear tire or rear frame weights. Preferably wheel weight as frame adds extra axle loads. But you check the rear transaxle load limit in their specs.
