Hi all~~glad to find a place I might be able to get answers on this one. Inherited a newish push mower from my Dad last fall. Started using it this season, and it surged and roared through several mowings. I tried adding oil, which resulted in some pretty dramatic smoke coming out the muffler.. so removed some oil. Better for a while, but last time I mowed, it surged and died halfway through the job. I have now taken apart everything but the flywheel (which is fine) without getting it to start. I Cleaned and changed the seal on the carb, (no needle in this one, its so simple) new spark plug-- properly gapped, took off blade and noticed that it sticks slightly when turned--do I have a bent blade shaft? Hmmmm...
any other ideas are welcome.
