Series 1500, great mower, runs good and mows good. After 30 to 45 minutes of mowing it does not go up small grades easily and sometimes it will not. Drive belt replaced and all pulleys are functioning and are not wobbly. It mows like a champ for 30 to 45 minutes then slows climbing slight grade. On flat lawn no problem

Model 1515 Serial Number 1C112H20532. Is it possible that the Hydrostatic Transmission is low on fluid. The mower is an older model but there is no evidence of leakage on floor but over time there may have been. It mows great up grade and flats for 30 minutes then struggles to go up a slight grade. An help would be greatly appreciated.

On that model the first thing I would check are the idler pulleys and idle arm. Making sure that the pulley bearings are not worn and the idler arm moves freely. If the drive belt has not been replaced in three years I would be replacing it.

Rivets, the belt is new and the pulleys and idler arm all move freely. Would a weak spring on the idler arm cause the mower to not like grades but only liking flat land.

If the pulleys are not holding the belt tight, because of a weak spring, that could be the problem. Is it an OEM string or did someone change it?
