Selling Old/Buying new

Hi All,

I'm looking to sell my 2013 Gravely ZT HD 52 with 105 hours. I've used it for 3 seasons to cut my 1.5 acre yard. Oil changed religiously and in excellent condition. Paid around $6000. My question is, what is a fair price to sell it for, and should I sell it now or in the springtime?

Reason for selling is I'm moving to a property with 5 acres of yard with a walking path thru woods. I'm thinking of moving up to a 60 inch fully commercial. Probably a Hustler, Gravely, Exmark or Scag. I'm excited that I get to start the process of getting a new mower over again. Suggestions on the new mower appreciated.

Probably Around 4-5 thousand if you paid $6,000 for it. Maybe start your Asking price at $5500 and go from there. Especially since you took care of it and kept it maintained. And 105 hours is really low for that machine. You could put it up for sale now, but you might not get as many offers as you would in the spring.

Don't know where Micah gets his figures but they are way too high. If you can get 4G's you will be doing great. I know this seems low, but you are a private party selling a used piece of equipment. Buyer does not know how it was talen care of or what they will have to put in it. My trade in offer to you would be $3000-$3500 depending on what you purchased. Sorry, but if you get more than that, it will be from someone who does not know the true value of what they are getting. There is a blue book value which you can get from all of the dealers which you are looking to purchase a new unit from. Ask them, should you trade in or sell outright.

I went into a local John Deere dealer and they offered me $3100 for a trade in. I think I'll probably wait until the spring and maybe see if I can deal with mowing the yard with my current unit. Doubtful. I'll probably get antsy and buy a new one in March ha. I know my current mower is in excellent condition, soft use with 100 hours. Obviously the buyer won't know that and I understand because I would be leary buying a used mower.

Haven't really considered a JD but when looking at the z915b commercial for $7100, it got me thinking. Should I consider this in with the other brands I mentioned?
