I was cleaning up my Husqvarna z254 and I found this little screw laying on the ground under the front end... any ideas?

That looks like a guide pin for an adjustable part on something. The pin allows a quadrant to swivel after other bolts have been loosened. The slot for this pin might be a curved slot for the adjustment. I hope this makes sense. There is always the chance it isn't for your mower. Take it to your dealer and ask him if he recognizes it. Good luck.
