I have a Scott's S1642 with Kohler Command 16HP. While cutting grass last week, it started sputtering (like it was running out of gas). It did this for about 20 minutes before it finally died. I still had over half a tank of gas, so I figured I was starting to have a carburetor issue. I went ahead and got a rebuild kit for the carburetor.

After getting that project done and putting everything back together, I tried to fire her up, but got nothing. In the past when I had issues get her started, I'd at least hear a clicking noise when turning the key, but this time there was nothing. Anyone have any idea what could be going on here?

I should add that the battery is good and I put a new plug in it.

Is it possible that the little solenoid under the carb bowl is bad? Could that cause it not to start?
