I have a Scag, Turf Tiger with a 27 HP Kohler engine. My engine looses power momentarily even when the blades are not engaged. After a few minutes you can hear a faint click sound and the engines resumes full power. I start back mowing and it will do it again several more times, I have to stop and wait for it to resume power again before I can continue mowing.

This sounds like a fault with the ignition module to me especially if you are hearing a click now and again.

Is this a carb or FI engine?

Where is the "click" coming from?

From the rear would indicate to me a fuel solenoid issue perhaps.

I'm not sure the ignition module has any moving parts at all (hence the term solid state from days gone by), so what would "click" in there? Nothing I can think of.

When you state it "loses power" but then state you can hear it a few minutes later and it restores "full power", is it running only partially (as if on one cylinder) or is it dying out completely and then you're able to restart it, after hearing it "click"? I'm a bit lost in your description ...
