I have a 2006 scag tiger cat 48inch Kawasaki 19 hp eng. at first it started blowing 20 amp fuses the the PTO switch & finally the battery. The charging coil has been replaced, PTO switch, voltage regulator aswell. I cut for about 2-3 hours was running grass was 6 on a 10 of thick it just stoped running i tried to re start and click,click click dead battery! the battery is brand new aswell. didnt blow any fuses but killed the battery again. I checked all the grounds and conecting wiring seems to be good. not sure what to do other than charge the battery over night and try again. any help is much apprieciated.

thanks. any advice? I replaced the charging coil,voltage regulator,pto switches,checked all wires for kinks,rubs,exsposed wire,shorts and anything loose. and cleaned all plugs. ran great 4 hours and now motor runs great but as soon as you pull the pto to engage blades blows the 20 amp fuse updated to a 25a emediately. any help is apprieciated.
Hopefully you have and know how to use a multimeter. Find and disconnect the connector plug to the clutch, it should be under the seat and close to the engine with the clutch part of the wiring passing down thru a hole in the frame. The clutch connector has a locking loop that you will need to carefully lift to be able to disconnect this connector. With the meter in the ohms position, check the reading between the two terminals and record this reading. Then check from each terminal to ground. The reading between the terminals should be 2.2-2.6 Ohms, the reading from each terminal to ground should be infinity or open circuit. If you don't have a meter, disconnect the clutch connector plug, make sure that it doesn't fall back thru the hole in the frame, start and run the machine, pull the PTO switch up. If the machine continues to run, then you have a clutch problem. If the fuse blows again, then you have a problem in the PTO circuit anywhere from the PTO switch down to the clutch connector.
