Okay this should help better than that stupid line diagram. The seat and lap bar switches are dual pole switches. Contacts are NC/NO when switches are not depressed and that reverses when the switches are depress. The switches are Delta 6444-053 or 6444-653. Also the seat switch connector can be an one pole shorting type or a non shorting depends on the OEM choice. This shorting strip is usually on Pole A which would the NC contacts

Scag online is wanting us to buy the whole seat switch assy 483474 but the switch itself can be replaced with 483473 if you are careful at disassembly.

Also the Scag PN 483474 can be replaced with a Dixie Chopper PN 677845.

Thank you so much this is a great help and I assumed it was a switch but just could not figure which one it was
but if I am not on the seat is will not crank over, when I sit it starts right up . making me think seat switch is doing what its supposed to
Yesterday i watched my buddy start the mower with the brake release off and then proceeded to continue down the drive way
today it will not crank with the brake release off even if one is in the seat
