Scag Patriot 61" Drive belt question

Hello everyone!

New member here. I have a 2017 Scag patriot with a 61" deck. I was mowing today in tall grass, and when I went to back up, I found it would not move.

Got it back to the garage, and found that the belt had come off. For reference, the mower has about 120 hours on it. I have not yet had to change the belt.

Somehow, the belt has become stuck between the pulley and drive body. Looks like the pulley needs to come off, but I'm not sure how to remove it. My guess is that there is a tool that goes into the two holes on the pulley to hold it in place while the nut is removed.

Before I go any further with it - Has anyone else run into this problem or have advice for me?

Many thanks!

Doug

I would replace belt with new OEM Scag belt. Cut old belt off with pocket knife etc. & install new belt. Let us know how it goes, thanks, Mark

Thanks Mark. I was able to remove the pulley with an impact wrench. Set the belt appropriately and then carefully tightened the nut with the impact wrench. Have about ten hours on it since and all is working well!
