Scag Lawn mower CV13T Shooting no spark trouble leads to blade engagement circuit

Engine would not start do to no spark. I traced the circuit from the switch forward into the harness. I got spark after disconnecting a faulty harness plug. I got spark and engine starts fine with harness plug disconnected but apparently the plug I disconnected is related to the blade engagement.
With motor running, blade will not engage when knob pulled. With motor running I tried to reconnect the plug - blade wants to engage but motor stalls.

Where do I go from here.
