It starts up every weekend when I mow my lawn.. but nearly every weekend I have to get off the mower at some point to move sticks or something and when I do, if I let it die, then it won’t fire back up.
When it’s hot it doesn’t do anything. It’s as if the mowers dead. BUT, it does make a click sound when I engage and disengage the PTO switch. I don’t know if that means it’s probablg functioning properly or not.
It’s done this for a while and I’ve checked the oil, it’s usually perfect. Today it was on the lower side, but still readable on the stick while hot, so I put maybe 1/5 of a quart in it and it’s in the sweet spot. Still wouldn’t start.
Any ideas what it would likely be? Or where I should begin checking first?
I’m an admitted idiot when it comes to these things.. so Please forgive me if this isn’t much information to provide any help.
Are you saying it does nothing when you turn key or turns over and not fire up? If nothing at all I would check your safety switches...seat, E brake, controls etc. maybe forgetting something is engaged or a bad connection or switch. Wiggle things around you may find something.
