I HAVE A SCAG 61" ZERO TURN WITH A 27 H.P. KOHLER ENJINE. STWC 61 V-27CV. THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS IS THE HOUR METER. THE BATTERY HAS 13.2 VOLTS AND THE CONNECTIONS ARE CLEAN. YESTERDAY, I HAD A HARD TIME STARTING THE MOWER, HAD TO USE STARTING FLUID, NEVER HAD TO DO THAT. WHEN IT DID START I CUT FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES AND IT SOUNDED LIKE IT RAN OUT OF GAS. I SWITCHED TANKS AND CRANKED, BUT IT WOULDN'T START. USED STARTING FLUID AGAIN AND IT WOULD ONLY RUN WHILE USING FLUID. TRIED TO START AGAIN AND NOTHING. NO POWER TO ANYTHING. CHECKED FUSES--BOTH BLOWN. REPLACED WITH 20 AMP FUSES. STILL NO POWER TO ANYTHING, NOT EVEN THE PTO. TRACED ALL WIRING FOR SHORTS. ALL GOOD. UNPLUGGED ALL WIRE HARNESSESS, ALL CLEAN. CHECKED RECTIFIER\REGULATOR AND FOUND THAT ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE 110 V. HAD CONTINUITY. TRIED TO CHECK SWITCH, BUT TERMINALS AREN'T MARKED. HAVE A BAD FEELING THAT IT IS THE INTERLOCK MODULE ALONG WITH THE RECTIFIER\REGULATOR. CAN ANYONE OFFER ANY HELP?

Check the ground cables at the engine mounting bolt. You can download the wiring diagram on the Scag website under manuals, you will need the model and serial numbers from your machine to find the correct manual. At the rear of the manuals is a wiring diagram. There is a Scag specific thread here at LMF. Do an electrical system check from a good start point and work your way thru the components in sequence. Bear in mind that all power, both system and charging power goes thru the keyswitch except for the high amperage for cranking. If your machine will crank, then more than likely the interlock module and starting circuit safety switches( levers, parking brake and seat switch) are working properly. Is the Kohler a fuel injected engine?

THANKS, I'LL TRY THE GROUNDING CABLE IN THE MORNING AND LET YOU KNOW WHAT ENSUES. checked grounding wires. Ignition switch and ground wires are o.k. disassembled switch. all contacts inside of switch are clean and in order. reasssembled switch and cleaned all blade contacts. checked switch by using switch electrical diagram and continuity meter. all o.k. checked from starter solenoid and found that all power goes to interlock module before switch. switch has no power to s terminal. suspect that regulator rectifier blew and sent high voltage to interlock. What's your theory? the enjine has a choke therefore it isn't fuel injected.
