Scag Dies when blades are engaged

i have a Scag turf tiger that dies when i engage the blades
What could the problem be?

First, explain how it dies. Like you turned off the key or sputters then dies.
If it is like you turned off the key then most likely it is a safety switch. If it sputters the dies it is most likely a dirty carb.
