Hi jerryh20,
A few suggestions and comments to you:
There is a Scag thread here on LMF, best to start a Scag related question there.
Scag doesn't have a chart for determining machine years.
Scag generally does a model production run for a 24 month period and a machine produced during a particular production run will fall into those model years.
Your machine serial number is early in the production run of 6670001-7219999 which was started in mid 2000.
The way to determine this is to go to the Scag website, click on operator manuals, find your machine model and serial number range, click and download the manual. Somewhere in the pages of the manual you will find the print date and revision dates if applicable. Usually found in the first few or last few pages of the manual.
I would call your Turf Tiger a 2000 year model.
All engine manufacturers have a build date in code on their engines, some are easy to determine, some you will need a service manual to determine the build date. The engine build date, if original to the machine, will give you an idea of the machine production time frame as the engine had to be produced prior to installation on the machine during assembly. The engine build date on machines that have been repowered will not indicate the machine production year.
