bought a nos sbv-2290 short block,have no idea old it is,should i replace the seals and o rings,any other suggestions on getting it ready for first start up,thanks , doug

I've had a couple old Briggs NOS motors from early 80s and they were good to go. How old is the short block actually?
that i dont know,tecumseh puts date code on the flywheel shroud,the only numbers on short block are on bottom of mounting flange,probably made before 2008,after that i think tecumseh changed hands a couple of times,any advice on breaking motor in,thanks doug
