My son jumped on the mower to move it out of the shed and the right control arm came off in his hand. Looks like the aluminum connector broke and the part ot bolt onto is broken too. The left side is cracked and proably needs to be replaced too. Looked up the part number that is on the broken part, and it is avalable from Amazon, along with the piece it bolts toas a set. I ordered a set for each side. Temps have headed into the 30's and colder so not sure when I will get it repaired, but at least I don't have to use it util spring(??) How does this get broken? I did get this from an auction used and I would guess th previous owner got a little rough with it?? Still love the machine even after the 2nd year of using it!!

There's your dinner.

Most people don't get rid of good running mowers. Like cars and trucks, they dump the broken down used up stuff.

Hope the seller mentioned it had a lot of wear on it.

Yeah, they said it didn't run, I got it working enough to start it and move it around before I bid on it. we did have to replace belts and some bearings, and we got it cheap enough so I can't complain too much. Just thought these were a strange thing to break. They look like a pain to get to but we'll figure it out, maybe in the spring (??)

People grabbing the steering arms to get out of the seat puts stress on them, and over time they get bent or break.

New parts arrived yesterday, they look great! sadly it is a bit too cold out to get them installed. No snow yet bit it might get up to 43 today.... I will get them installed if and when it warms up. probably done using it until the grass starts growing again. Already winterized .

Still a it chilly out, and not in a big hurry to install them yet. I have seen a few videos about a rail across the front of a mower to help people get in and out of the mower (zero turn mower) . Anyone installed one and how do they like them? I am sure I could fab up something similar but wonder if it will get in the way of mowing and such. ideas??

I am pretty sure this is what damaged my control arms.
