Repairs run or not to run!!!

I have a john deere sabre 1338g, I've been having a running problem, it starts to skip and then cuts off like its running out of gas, I have took off the gas tank,cleaned it out, new gas lines and filter,took off the carb and cleaned it out about 4 times,, tried another coil, getting good fire, put a new carb on, and it runs the same.. I just happen to have the hood off so I tried it again, and it ran fine.. so I guess it was just getting to hot?? does this deere have a heat sensor or was this just an easy fix?? thanks for any help... eddie

"Skip" sounds like an electrical problem. Plug, plug wire or coil.
"Running out of gas" could be a fuel pump, or a clogged filter but you say you replaced all the fuel lines.
Any possibility of a loose fitting in the fuel lines?
