Roll over

I have a Craftsman model 917.375502 22" walk behind with a 6 h.p. Briggs. I slipped on a hill and the mower rolled over 1 time and landed back on the wheels. It shut down when I let go of the OPC. Now it starts OK but will not go above idle speed. I can override the throttle and everything is fine. Nothing seems to be off etc. (springs, linkage). Any suggestions? Oil problems with the governor maybe? There is no obvious damage anywhere.

you may have bent the tab that pulled the governor spring

Any chance there was some gunk or debris in the float bowl that was dislodged and is now blocking a carb jet or port? But you state you can override the throttle, which I interpret as moving the linkage manually and the engine will speed up...which rules out that cause. The governor linkage on these engines is pretty well shielded which makes me doubt it could have been bent by one roll over. But that seems about the only likely cause.
