Riding mower- oil spits out exhaust then stalls

I have a troybilt riding mower with a Briggs and Stratton 18.5 HP motor. The other I ran it and it ran fine. Ran it only like 10 minutes. The following day I started it up and smoke started coming out of the exhaust and spit oil out of exhaust and stalled. Tried starting a few more times and same result, smoke and spitting oil out if the exhaust. Any idea what is causing this ?

check the oil level on the dipstick, be sure it isn't above the full mark, and smell of it for the aroma of gasoline or feel if its thinned out/watery.

You thinking the pin on the float stuck open?

Possibly... maybe a head gasket issue.
post the engine model numbers so we can see what particular engine you have.. if its an Over head valve engine, should be stamped into the valve cover...

Yeah, if not gas in the oil,
then it is likely a blown head gasket.
