Some yahoo ripped out all the original wiring, and I'm trying to rewire my early 90's vintage Scag 48 walk behind, manual start, Kohler cv14 engine. I can't seem to get the cutter deck working. The simplistic wiring diagram in the Scag manual doesn't help much either. For example, it shows 1 wire connecting to the ignition, but there are 3 wires coming from the rectifier, the spark plug (white), hot wire (yellow) and ground (black). To kill the engine takes the spark plug and ground. Where does the hot wire go? Seems like it should connect to the cutter, but that's not shown. Also, the two wires (black ground and blue) coming from the cutter deck seem to have continuity. Is my clutch bad? The wiring diagram shows the cutter deck switch, but which switch is it? The cutter deck must have two switches. I'm thinking a magnetic switch in the clutch and the manual switch on the handlebars. Is this right? This is not shown. This is also posted on the mower repair forum.

Figured out part of the problem. The yahoo replaced the 6 prong switch with a 2 prong switch.
