DO NOT DISCONNECT, This is a most valuable Safety feature issue not only for you but your family, neighbors, etc. Example: if your mowing in reverse and in a hurry and tractor goes over a dropoff, tractor will shut down. I had this happen to me last year with tractor throwing me off ending up sideways with my legs underneath. By the grace of GOD I was not hurt. I was able to roll tractor right side up by grabbing steering wheel which was on the ground, not fun. I'm over 60 now so I try to take my time and enjoy mowing.
