  • / replacing hydraulic fluid question (related to dump valve)
i need to replace the hydraulic fluid on my dixie chopper. the instructions say to open the dump valve. i understand that to be on the pump, as opposed to what's essentially a parking brake lever (left side of seat), right?

do i run engine until fluid comes out of the dump valves then stop? how do i know when the system is adequately bled?

thanks

The dump valve is not a valve that oil comes out of it is a valve the bypasses the wheel motors so you can tow or push your mower. To change the oil you open dump valve then remove the filter and catch all the oil from the filter. Put new filter on then fill the system then bleed the air out of the system.
