I have a 90s vintage Honda lawn mower, it has the safety lever bar that you pull to get the blades to engage as well as a manual throttle that also engages the choke.

I am very mechanically inclined, what types of problems could I run into by trying to switch out a Honda engine off of a power washer? I am figuring I might have issues to do with the throttle and safety bar? The newer engine has an auto throttle and manual choke.

Crank is different size (so clutch and blade adapter will prolly not fit, throttle is different, kill switch is different, among some smaller things.

Frankly I would try to get a newer Honda engine off a mower with the same features maybe used on craigslist. Or just a new one they aren't really that expensive and will easily be adapted to your machine and will last a long time.

If your old mower is self-propelled, and uses the commercial GXV engine, it is likely to have a PTO that is shaft-drive for the transmission. A Honda power washer engine, besides being a horizontal configuration vs. vertical for a mower, will not have the PTO design. Beware lubrication issues as well, as verticals don't always match a horizontal for oil distribution designs.

Of course, your old mower may be push-only, or a newer design GCV engine that uses a drive belt to run the transmission.

I'd bet the pressure washer is a GC160 or GC190, but would need the full serial number or model number off the mower to see what engine it uses.
